First Smallie......ever!
Kevin  05/10/2005 - 06:09  Impoundments    I hit Libery yesterday evening, this time in the canoe. I was fishing the shoreline of the coves just down lake from the second boat launch working both a zoom worm and a pop-R. I saw a swirl about 20 feet from shore and cast towards it with the pop-r and it was hit immediately by a good size fish. After a good 5 minutes of fight and getting dragged about a hundred feet in the canoe, I finally boated a nice 4 lb. Smallmouth, it was a beautiful fish and my first smallie to boot! I also cought a 2 lb largemouth a little farther down. Things are really starting to heat up on Liberty now!

TightLine  05/11/2005 - 21:16    I fished from the bank by the bridge again...lost a decent fish, and caught a 10" inch smallie...just glad I caught something you know...I hope I get to tangle with some of those four pounders soon.

Captwalleye  05/10/2005 - 09:26    A four pounder as your first Smallmouth.You've just been spoiled.I'm still trying to get one that big.I just go by measurement.I may have accomplished it with a 20.25".Anyway,Congratulations on your first Smallie and a lunker to boot.
