It felt gooooooooood!!!
smalljaw  03/11/2005 - 22:31  Trip Reports  Monocacy    to get out on the river today. First time this year I have fished in the river AND from the yak. I threw tubes, jerk baits, and grubs with no takers. I fished the feeder creeks thinking that they would be just a little bit warmer than the main stem. I didn't carry a thermometer so I can't tell you anything about the water temps other than both the main stem and the feeders were COLD. The new Curado performed excellently!!! I am very happy with it but I still think my Pflueger is better. The water was up a little and moving pretty fast. I was out for about 2 hours before I packed it in and headed home.
3/13 Road trip and report
Captwalleye  03/14/2005 - 13:12    I wound up crossing the Monocacy and Potomac early Sunday morning. The Mon looked pretty good,as far as color. The Potomac looked alittle high, but clear with that cold green tint to it.Where the Shenandoah entered was discolored appearing but not too bad.
I hit a pond later that afternoon, for about an hour and a half.Caught six Largemouth Bass and that was all. They all fell for a 1/16oz Duck feather jig. They were all dinks, the largest about ten inches.
It won't be long, and we'll be catching fish everywhere we go.Finally!

Excellent!
Captwalleye  03/12/2005 - 09:38    Way to go!It's a tough bite right now,but it should'nt be for much longer.I'll even go as far as predict you score on your next trip.I'm getting pump for this April deal.In fact I'm scheming a shakedown cruise asap,to see how wearing neoprene waders is going to be like.I've got a feeling I won't have to worry about getting cold,as long as I don't do anything simple like fall off.
If this weather holds up,I'm hitting somewhere today. If you go, good luck!
