Farm Pond 6-12-10
Steve826  06/12/2010 - 21:15  Trip Reports  Farm Pond  Roll Your Own    Fished a Frederick County farm pond with my dad this morning from 8:30-11:30. It was sunny and very warm out. Dad did much better than me today, he caught 4 bass and a bluegill. I caught one bass and one bluegill. All of his fish came on a Mepps # 2. My bluegill came on Berkley Gulp! Maggots and my bass came on a Berkley Gulp! Nightcrawler. The bass I got was about 1.5-2 lbs, and the bluegill was about 8 inches and fat. My dad's biggest bass was around 1.5 or 2 lbs. Two more were dinks and the last was around a foot. Overall not a bad morning on the water but I had an off day I suppose. I guess it happens to us all. We probably would've done better had we gotten there earlier before it got too bright.

Pretty Looking Pond
TightLine  06/16/2010 - 11:15    Nice pics Steve...that pond looks inviting! Some early morning topwater might be fun too.

sounds pretty good
space inwaders  06/16/2010 - 21:13    Not a bad morning at all in my book, at least you both caught fish.

When you analyze the "luck" that makes or breaks a fishing day it really is amazing. Lets say you're having a off-day, maybe just by chance, each time you bring your lure past that big fish, she's just looking the other way for a second. Maybe she's roaming around a little and the lure and the fish just dont come face to face. It happens, and its something to think about when you feel like you've done something wrong. There's always the luck factor.

keep at em!
