Well it's about time!
Captwalleye  03/10/2010 - 06:02  Trip Reports  Farm Pond    I finally got a chance to drag my carcass out and go fishin'.I slipped up to my sure thing pond and managed five Crappie and one very skinny six inch largemouth. They all fell to a 1/16 oz.craft hair jig fished staight up and also suspended one foot under a float.
I did get out earlier to the same pond before the snow, and got one Crappie and one Largemouth. The water was a whole lot colder than it is now.I saw one little turtle climb out and sun itself in the last rays of the day. That's a good sign. With the rain coming and moderate temps fishin' everywhere should take off.
So.....quit talkin and thinkin'about going and go.Catch anything or not I guarantee you'll feel so much better.I sure do.
Way to Go!

nice work
space inwaders  03/10/2010 - 22:01    Its always a treat to catch a few crappies, pretty fish. I dont catch them regularly, they're somewhat illusive i guess. Not as much as ol' marble eyes though=)

You're right, even if you dont get things just right and catch fish, its sweet to get out after a long cold winter.

keep em comming, and good luck!

Nice Job
DanMarino  03/10/2010 - 14:25    Good job Capt. I'm still working on some upgrades to my boat, but hopefully I'll get out with my son this weekend someplace.

We went to do some fly fishing at a recently stocked flow near me last Sunday and the place was crawling with fishermen. Didn't see a single fish. None of the fishermen reported catching anything. My son slipped and fell into the river as he was climbing down the bank. He had hip boots on, but got his backside wet and muddy. A few minutes later his leader broke off when snagged in a tree. We decided to pack it up and hit the McDonalds drivethru. The Shamrock Shake was awesome! Looking forward to better trips and continued warm weather. Did I mention that trout fishing in central Maryland stinks?
