finally some fish

I'd been trying all winter when the snow allowed. The rivers are pretty high now, but not muddy. I haven't had luck cept for a 12" sucker on monday evening, caught on a 4" mister twister smoke/flake curly tail bouncing bottom.
I went down to my neighborhood spot on a major tributary to the potomac thursday evening. This place is 8-15' deep and had a pretty strong back-flow going. Once i switched to a 1/4 oz jig head and a gulp emerald shiner, twitching along bottom, it didnt take long to get my first bass of the year. First one was about 13 inches, about 10 mins later a nice fat 17 incher.

Couldn't get any more bites that evening, but went back the next evening with my lady.
I tied hers up first, and before i could get tied up, she had a fish! About a 12" smallie. First fish of the year for her. I unhooked and released this one, went back to tying up my rig, and before i could finish, she has another!
This was a little better, about 13" or so. We snapped a picture and released it. I was ready to toss mine out then, worked the area a bit, missed a bite, lost one fish, got about 10 snags and lost a couple jigs. I moved up and down the shoreline, and soon she had another, and this one was a little stronger.
A nice 15 inch or so.

It was great to get out and feel that good sensation on the line. Its time guys, good luck!
