november highlights

I went out just about every weekend this november. Like last year, the minnow imitating hard plastics were working best.
In the last two weeks fishing has tapered for me, even though the water wasn't too cold. i always have trouble when the rivers up a little.
Here are highlights from a few november trips on the upper river.

19 inches, at an area i rarely hike to, nov 1st. A good bite this night, 8 fish hooked lost or landed. all smaller ones 17-19 inches.

fattest 21"er i've seen, this was early morning nov 2nd. Had a really good bite with 5 fish in 1 hour at 2 nearby holes.

23 inches, 8 pm or so nov 4th.

19.5 inches and fat, 10 pm nov 4th. This was a real surprise.

Went up to an area nov 7th that i knew should be good, but i never had much luck there, and caught walleye there for the first time. A nice 19" and the above 22" or so.

23-24 inches and fat, nov 14. We only could coax up one that night, but the next night caught 2 a little over 22 inches.

32.5 inches and FAT, nov 22nd in tidal waters. Her new personal best, but she lost one which was at least 45 inches, 10 feet from shore... That one's head had to be 12" wide. I missed several bites on my catfish rig, while casting a jig with another rod.
I haven't seen any real giant walleyes this november, mid sized eyes were in smaller numbers it seemed, but we did get alot of smaller eyes.
We only catfished twice and annie got a new best fish, and hooked, fought, saw and almost landed a true big blue cat.
Its slowing down now as the river rises and cools toward the 30 degree range, but there still are some good fish to catch.
Good luck and get out there.
