ENJOYABLE MORNING FISHING!
jackson  05/09/2009 - 04:22  Friends of MDfishing.org  Black Hills    Finally met and fished with a "MDfishing" member, Tightline! And a very enjoyable outing it was! Good conversation, and reminiscing of common "fishing holes" we both had visited in the past. This was the first time I've ever met and fished with anyone in the "blind". Boy have I been missing out on some good experiences! As it was my worst fears came true! The fish would not cooperate. They are in what I call the "FUNK"! With all the rain, 10 days of continuously cloudy weather, and temps. all over the charts, these lake fish are all screwed up. However, I believe what we were experiencing as we were on the water, was a influx of males moving to the shallows and stumps fanning out beds. Probably due to finally getting some SUN, and a full moon. The best fish of the morning was a larger 2# male which had recently, and or was in the process of fanning out a bed. His tail fin showed this recent activity. Been a strange spring season, for lake fish anyway. Finally seen the first major showing of perch in the shallows, and approx. 24" Musky laying on the surface soaking up the rays! All good signs. Water temps while on the water ranged from 62.5 to 66.5. By mornings end we hooked five and landed three, and feel lucky getting those few bites! Boy will I be glad when all this "love making" is over and they put the feed bag on! Once again I would like to thank "Tightline" for a very enjoyable experience!
Back at ya!
TightLine  05/09/2009 - 21:05    Jack,
It was great meeting and fishing with you. Fishing was tough, but the telling of tales, and having a few laughs, made the trip. I think I have both of my reels working well now...if you wanna give Liberty a try tomorrow afternoon, send me a PM.

See ya next time,
-TL
