Liberty - Saturday April 25

TightLine 04/28/2009 - 14:19 Trip Reports Liberty Roll Your Own Took my first shot this year and put the boat in the water. Fished from 8:30-3:30, and caught one 13" Large Mouth. He was pretty spunky, and left the water four times, so I got my money's worth out of the little guy. Felt great to get back out, and feel something pulsating on the end of the line. I caught him on a beaver hut on a small Texas rigged worm.

The lake is still down about four feet, I'd guess, with water temps 56-59 degrees. Parts of the main lake were warmer than back in the coves...but with all the warm temps and SW winds lately, I'm sure that has changed by now.

jackson 04/30/2009 - 04:31 It's always great to feel that first line stretch! The last time I was out water was also in mid to upper 50's. I did get out yesterday, Wednesday, and water temp was 68- 70 degrees!! Fish still for the most part not on beds. If your ever down this way and want to fish BH's give me a shout! Sorry, but out of thousands of bass caught, never picked up a smallie though from this lake. Good Luck, Jackson!!

jackson 05/01/2009 - 14:36 Just shoot me a PM. I fished BH's today. Water temp. back down to 63. Still no sign of spawning fish. Sure wish they would hurry up and get it over with, lol. First fish caught was about 4#'s, on about the 3rd pitch to some wood! Was still tough fishing for good conditions, rain and a stiff sw wind. Ended up with 8, from 6am-12pm. All on jig/pig.
