STILL NO SOW'S!!

By this time I usually have at least one 5#er or better, but not the case so far! I did have what I believe was one of at least five pounds last week but came unbuttoned. Visited BH's on Friday. Fished about 6hrs. Cold beginning but soon warmed up. Wish I could say as much for the fishing though! But still fun to get out and attempt to put something together. I've lost my fishing buddy during the week since he has started school this year. I sure do miss his company though! Anyway, water temp. had dropped about 5 deg. since my last visit. Was currently on average about 56 when I arrived. I'm quite sure it warmed up latter in afternoon to above 60 with the sun, and FINALLY a southern wind! Could not buy a bite on plastics or a jig. When the wind finally picked up did manage to put 7 fish in the boat. No hogs, but a couple chunks anyway. All on a crankbait in 7-10' water on steeper banks. Just getting the reaction bites! I would think with the warming trend, or should I say HOT, and especially with some warmer overnight temps. things should pick up by Tuesday anyway. We'll see! If any of you regulars ever want to get out during the week, just shoot me a pm or if you plan on visiting BH's on your own let me know.
I fished BH Tuesday for about
bassin  04/30/2009 - 06:52    I fished BH Tuesday for about 4hrs,first time in 2yrs I did ok.Nothing big caught 10 mostly 2-2.5 lbs one 3lb all fish were caught on beds with lizzard or senco.I did see some big sows but couldn't get them to bite.I think they are just starting to move up and make beds.Have to get together sometime and fish I used to fish there weekly when I hade off tru the week.

I fished BH's Wedsday!
jackson  04/30/2009 - 09:53    I'm sure I've probably seen you there sometime! Few years back practically fished it daily, during the week anyway. At least water temp rose, 70 deg. yesterday! I've been mainly concentrating on the Senaca Creek Side. Early spring, as you know,it is always 5-10 deg. warmer until the first real warming trend like we just had. I would imagine the whole lake is about the same now. I fished 6:30 till about 1:00. NE wind and rain. Thought I got on a pattern heading towards the back. Caught 4 nice fish on lay-downs off a jig/pig going down thru the straight! Largest maybe 3#. Ended up with about doz. fish or so, mostly off tube. Next time you have off during the week give me a shout. Good Luck, Jackson!!

Friday, May 1st
jackson  05/01/2009 - 03:44    Maybe today's the day! Got up this morning light drizzle with a front coming through. Getting ready to give BH's one more try. Will advise outcome! Good Luck, Jackson!!
