STILL NO SOW'S!!
jackson 04/25/2009 - 03:08 Trip Reports Black Hills

By this time I usually have at least one 5#er or better, but not the case so far! I did have what I believe was one of at least five pounds last week but came unbuttoned. Visited BH's on Friday. Fished about 6hrs. Cold beginning but soon warmed up. Wish I could say as much for the fishing though! But still fun to get out and attempt to put something together. I've lost my fishing buddy during the week since he has started school this year. I sure do miss his company though! Anyway, water temp. had dropped about 5 deg. since my last visit. Was currently on average about 56 when I arrived. I'm quite sure it warmed up latter in afternoon to above 60 with the sun, and FINALLY a southern wind! Could not buy a bite on plastics or a jig. When the wind finally picked up did manage to put 7 fish in the boat. No hogs, but a couple chunks anyway. All on a crankbait in 7-10' water on steeper banks. Just getting the reaction bites! I would think with the warming trend, or should I say HOT, and especially with some warmer overnight temps. things should pick up by Tuesday anyway. We'll see! If any of you regulars ever want to get out during the week, just shoot me a pm or if you plan on visiting BH's on your own let me know.
