8/30- Another skunking...

Steve826 08/30/2008 - 22:02 Trip Reports Impoundments Roll Your Own With all the stress of school starting back up and having company for Labor Day this weekend, we knew it would be difficult to go fish this weekend but we made time to go to Cunningham Falls Lake for a short time this evening. Fished the dam area and got absolutely nothing. Gulp nightcrawlers, Senkos, swimbaits, suspending jerks, spinnerbaits...not a tap. Only positive about the trip was catching a spinnerbait that must have gotten hung up on someones line...free lure :) Saw a ton of minnows nearby. Just couldnt get anything to bite. Very very frustrating. Its been almost 2 months since i've caught a bass. I really hope the fishing gets better soon...or I somehow start getting good at it :)

Steve826 09/03/2008 - 17:32 Guys, thanks for the words of encouragment. I'm hangin in there...just waiting til the water cools down and the fish put the feedbag on. Then I can get somethin to stretch the line of my President for the first time :) Speaking of which, i think I'm gonna bream fish for a bit next time I go with my president, just to make sure the reel will hold up against a fish. I can always count on catchin a bream anyway. Its just those largemouths...ahh well I've caught five of em, I'll just have to keep waiting for my sixth :)

Captwalleye 09/02/2008 - 05:31 Patience,my young friend patience.They'll come.Hang in there!Just so you know.I'm struggling too.Two rivers and a lake.Caught fish,not many and struggled for what I did catch.Lake was a joke.It is in what I call "limbo".Warm water and no access to deep water where I want to fish.That is going to change,and soon.You'll see.

ogbudha 09/03/2008 - 16:33 Its all about time on the water my young friend. Muskalungee Mike fishes every single day...but he only posts on the trip reports where he actually catches a fish. He gets skunked..ALOT. "Keep at em' " as the Capt would say.
