TightLine  04/17/2008 - 14:32  Trip Reports  Liberty  Roll Your Own    I take my dogs for a walk down a logging trail and around the shoreline, weather permitting, just about every afternoon. I've been looking for activity in the shallows, but until yesterday, I hadn't seen a thing move so far this year. Well yesterday, I first saw a large school of minnows, then in the back of a cove that was receivng the afternoon sun, I saw a huge school of carp...I quit counting at 40. On we went around the bank, and then a very large group of some kind of shad or herring (six to eight inches long) came right up to the bank and then took off...so, I think I'm going to take off early tomorrow, and give it a go. I would suppose that the water has got to be getting close to 60 degrees now, and I'm going away for the weekend, so...I'll let you know how I do.
