Windy Windy Windy - Fishing with Smalljaw & The Duder
muskalungee  03/30/2008 - 13:28  Trip Reports  Potomac

Got out for a few hours in the AM on Saturday with Smalljaw and boy was it cold and windy. We ran into OGbudha (ben) at the launch and tool around a little while before getting started fishing. We faced very tough fishing conditions for sure but we toughed through it and were rewarded for our efforts. While we didn't land any fish over 17", all our fish were pretty fat and healthy. In the afternoon, I traded in the old bitter one for theDuder and we went back at it. Again, same deal but the conditions were a bit easier as the wind calmed down later in the afternoon. For the day, we had ~10 smallies in the boat and one real nice Greenie which smalljaw picked up on our last stop on our way back to the ramp.

Another great day to be out on the river (regardless of the conditions), as I had a chance to catch up a bit with Smalljaw and hang a bit with my brother....oh yeah and we caught some fish. :)

The rodeo is coming up this weekend. I'll be fishing all day Friday, and Sat/Sun afternoons. Hope to see some of you out there.

Captwalleye  03/30/2008 - 18:58    Young Jedi,That is a fine example of a football with fins. You did quite an amazing job painting and gluing on those fins. You should have tried hiding the laces alittle better though.
All kidding aside that's one good looking fish.Their ALL good looking fish. What's reaaly cool is they all came from a river near you.

muskalungee  03/30/2008 - 20:06    Hey capt, remember that spot you had me pull up to so we could reach a bit deeper? That's where that fish came from, and we got 2 more out of there too this time. We'll hit it on Friday. :)
