Windy on the River
REB9  11/16/2007 - 18:09  Trip Reports  Potomac  Roll Your Own    Actually got to take a 9/80 Friday off today. So, I kissed the wife, put the monsters on the big yellow bus, hooked up the JRJ and headed for the river. Stopped in Jefferson for gas and coffee. 2 guys asked me if I was huntin or feeshin? I said both.... Cold, windy and more wind when I got to the river. Up river I went for a 4 mile ride in the wind and waves. Wore neoprene waist waders and GORETEX.

Started feeshin with a suspending jerkbait. Caught a nice smallie on the second cast. Ended up with 5 in an hour of "suspending" the jerk. Feesh wanted the jerk real slow. Far to windy to work plastic, though I tried later in the day.

Drifted along the banks looking to sneak up on a woodie with no luck. Saw a 6 point buck swimmin cross the river about 1:30PM. Guess he really enjoyed the swim, for about 10 minutes later, he decided to head back across the river.

Feeshed for awhile in the PM and ended up hooking 3 more. River running low and clear...

Ran into SMALLJAW and MUSKY MIKE around 3PM. Hopefully, they had a good evening bite. PUlled around 4PM.

Another great day to be alive and enjoy the POTOMAC!!!!!!!

REB9
Had to be a Real Man to Fish out there today
smalljaw  11/16/2007 - 20:00    Yeah, we got few...on your pattern :) Mike wrassled in a few footballs. Got some photos. Let's see if Mike posts them.

I got 2 on plastic :) then one on a pointer.

Good to see you out there today REB9. At least you weren't at home with the rest of the sissies.

Smalljaw

Sissies....huh?
Captwalleye  11/17/2007 - 04:44    Hmmm.... those are some pretty bold words you've thrown down.

Gotta Love Late Fall Feeshin!
REB9  11/16/2007 - 20:35    Glad you boys snagged a few. The feesh I caught hit very light. They were just there. Almost like ice feeshin.... Biggest one I got was 16. Great color and fat. I'll probably hit the reever on Wednesday to see ifn I can get an eye or two. The low water makes it tough for me.... I like the water around 3 feet.....

Ain't it grand when you have the reever all to your lonesome?? It was a tough day to feesh, but with caution and the right clothes, very nice.....

See you on the water! Glad you got your parts. Try out AB Seas if you need something else. Paul is a great guy.
