5 Year Anniversary Coming Up
smalljaw  11/01/2007 - 21:39  Friends of MDfishing.org  Roll Your Own
The end of this year will be 5 years on the web for MDFishing.org. In that 5 years there have been a few diehards and a few fleeting members. I have the itch to revamp and upgrade the site. I am asking this without consulting my partner in crime and very close friend, Muskalungee.

Question is what would make us better?
We have been basically a glorified blog and there isn't anything wrong with that. I, actually, like that very much. It works for me. Easy to maintain and no airs about us. We do what we say and we say what we do.

For example:
By design and in that time we have NEVER pimped anything. EVER! Muskalungee and I talked about why that was the right thing to do a long time ago. It was a very good decision. I am seriously reconsidering that position. There are a couple of products that I think NEED to be pimped by some of us. Case Plastics is the de-facto example. I have been using Charlie's stuff for a long time. Case products are good, very good. How do we pull that off and maintain integrity? Is it even possible?

Should we do start pimping things that are just flat out the way to go?

Next steps:
What do you think about a mid-winter focus group? We can do a firehouse breakfast somewhere and Mike and I can get the ideas we need to finish the job. Bottom line is that I want this to be all about us because that is what matters. I don't really give a crap what other people are doing.

Tell me your thoughts.

More to come!

5 More Years!!!
Dee Tee  11/05/2007 - 14:18    I too would like to congratulate both of you on five years and going strong! Like many others I stumbled upon the site a while back and really enjoy the friendly atmosphere. This is the only fishing site I will read and for what ever it’s worth, I like the blog style format you have here. I do not keep the fish I catch, none of my friends or family fish much or kayak, so MDfishing.org gives me a place to post pictures and tell lies, I mean post fishing reports among other who enjoy the same. Keep doing what you are doing, we really enjoy it!

Don't worry, my bail is open!

I am in
TOOBIGTOYAK  11/05/2007 - 08:36    If its possible to make it a Sunday I will be sure to join in. Mountain gate restaurant has a nice area and the food is ready no special prep needed. Thanks for a cool five years guys.

I'd be happy to join in the discussion
TightLine  11/03/2007 - 10:34    I'd first off like to thank you guys for the forum. I moved to MD about three years ago and found this little blog from which I have made some "virtual" fishing buddies. I like the low key, friendly atmosphere, and the willingness of others to help out. I've only met the Capt in person, and that was just for a brief moment, and would love to sit down over a stack of hotcakes, and coffee with the rest of you guys. You guys have a great thing going here...
