muskyking  09/30/2007 - 08:55  Potomac  Roll Your Own    Hey everyone look's like I am the new kid. My name is Troy and some of my fishing buddies call me Muskyking. I am addicted to fishing for musky. Its so bad I rarely fish for any other species of fish though occasionally I catch them. Belive me I don't think by any means I am the greatest musky fisherman out there I just have some buddies that are In awe of some of my catches so thats where the name came from. I will be very up front with my feelings in regards to muskies, I love them and want to protect them as much as possible. I think Md has the opportunity to have an awsome natural muskie fishery but for now its still very delicate. One last thing to note as much as I love the muskies I still think If I caught a record I would take it.

Here's my latest muskie fishing story. Me and my fishing buddy Riverratt went fishing Sat.9/29/07 in the Am. Riverratt was trying for some smallies because he like's to be well rounded and hate's being skunked. I don't mind the skunk so much because I know the reward of casting 1,000 times. Riverratt had a 14" smallie hit a topwater popper he barely got started in the fight when a very large muskie layed into the side of the bass.
This was unbeliveable I have never in all my years seen a musky go after another fish this size on someone elses line. Truly awsome! Riverratt we screaming for the net as he thought he was going to boat a nice smallie and possibly a trophy size musky. I was pretty sure the big musky was going to let go so I really did'nt react very fast to getting the net. As soon a I picked up the net the musky let go. Riverratt brought in the smallie and it did show signs of the attack however we were able to release the fish and it took off like a rocket. The morning ended up with a big fat skunk for me and 2 bass for riverratt. I saw 3 muskies and that was enough for me to keep my head up and keep myself jonesing for my next outing.
