ogbudha  07/08/2007 - 08:08  Trip Reports  Potomac  Roll Your Own    Got up very early and hit the Upper Potomac. The boat ramp was entirely out of the water. I had just put the smaller tires on my trailer to help me launch in the shallow stuff...good timing! I have never run my boat when the water has been this low...it is low..super low. I was very impressed with my rig as I ran through shallow water that scared me..and that takes alot. We managed to catch a dozen in about 2 hrs and then it just got to stinking hot. Biggest fish went just over 16. Did have a pig of a largemouth that hit a topwater plug first thing around 6am but it came unbuttoned 10 ft from the boat.Top water bite was strong for about 20 minutes then when the sun came through it was over. Weeds are very very thick and the water is bathtub warm! Time for wet wading..until we get some rain.
