At it again....

I went back up the river again this evening.I'll venture a guess that the water level is falling almost an inch in 24 hours.I arrived alittle earlier than usual.I wanted to look around, and see what was hiding underwater in a certian spot.
I wound up fishing three separate spots. The first was a dud.It was still light out,and I moved up to another place with fairly deep water and current.I managed a small Smallie there.Than up to another spot, that might be too shallow now.I caught another small Smallie, and a jumbo long earred sunfish. It was getting pretty dark by than.I gave it at least fifty casts, and than headed back to the first spot.
I fan casted the whole section, and it just wasn't happening. So I decided to stick with it alittle more.I was going to give it until the moon set behind the mountain.I made a looking for trouble cast up on the edge of the rock that creates the top of the pool I was fishing.I slowly swam the lure down the rock toward the edge where it dropped off.You could feel the lure tick, tick, tick on the rock as it swam.Than there was nothing as it passed over the edge and swam freely. There was a short pause of free swimming than kathunk, fish on.It came to the top,and rolled, and didn't feel like much.I didn't horse it,and sort of let it go where it wanted too, until it seemed played out.I led it toward me,and around the rock I was on.Up into the shallow water between my perch and the shore.I got out my red lensed flashlight and took a peek.Fooled me! It was another monster.27 5/8" worth of walleye. That bad boy was chunky, and carry it all the way through it's body.I have a photo to post, but it doesn't do it justice.I need to figure a way to show you just how bulky these fish are built.Hmmm, maybe next time.
